Air Freight in Egypt
Air-freight support combines airport routing, shipment documentation and importer-side preparation for arrival in Egypt. Al-Rouby coordinates the customs and delivery steps alongside the carrier plan. Share chargeable-weight details, cargo restrictions and the required delivery window before booking; flight time is not the same as clearance time.
When does air freight make sense for Egypt-bound cargo?
Air freight suits time-sensitive, high-value, or lightweight cargo where the deadline — or the value of speed — outweighs the higher cost. It is a planning decision made against the cargo profile and the receiving schedule, not a default.
- Time-critical shipments with a hard delivery deadline
- High-value cargo benefiting from shorter transit exposure
- Lightweight, high-value-density items where air economics hold
- Spare parts and urgent industrial inputs — see import support
How does ACI apply to air freight?
ACI is fully mandatory for air freight into Egypt since January 1, 2026 — cargo data must be declared and the ACID generated before loading, the same requirement that applies to maritime imports since October 2021. Al-Rouby coordinates the air file against these requirements before the cargo moves. NAFEZA — aviation ACI notice
The practical upshot: air speed means nothing if the file is not ready. We prepare the ACI file, documents, and permits in parallel with the routing so clearance never erases the time advantage air freight was chosen for.
How does customs clearance work for air cargo?
Air cargo clearance follows the same national process — ACI readiness, Nafeza declaration, classification and valuation, inspection where selected, and release — but on the airport's faster clock. The file discipline is the same; the tolerance for delay is smaller.
Our ACI & Nafeza support and customs clearance services carry the air file end to end, and logistics solutions connect airport release to inland delivery.

Flight time is not clearance time. A four-hour flight loses its speed advantage the moment an unprepared file lands at Cairo Airport.
Fast flight. Slow release. Mandatory since 1 January 2026: Air cargo into Egypt now requires full ACI compliance and a 19-digit ACID before loading — the same discipline as ocean freight. No pre-flight ACID: Mandatory for air cargo since 1 Jan 2026; AWB and invoice mismatch: Chargeable weight & HS codes must align; Missing permits at CAI: Terminal storage clock runs on arrival. Al-Rouby intercepts delay: the file is prepared in parallel with flight routing.
Built for deadlines, value and precision. Urgent deadlines: Hard delivery windows where speed outweighs rate; High-value cargo: Shorter transit exposure & tighter security; Lightweight density: High value-to-weight ratio where air economics hold; Spare parts and inputs: Critical components preventing production line stops. Before booking, share the chargeable weight, dimensions, restrictions and delivery window.
Five steps on the airport's faster clock. 01 Air Routing: Carrier schedule, chargeable weight & airport plan. 02 ACI & File Prep: Nafeza ACID, CargoX & permits before loading. 03 Arrival at Cairo (CAI): AWB manifest & terminal hand-off. 04 Customs Clearance: Nafeza declaration, valuation & inspection. 05 Inland Delivery: Direct dispatch from airport to your facility. Same national customs discipline, smaller tolerance for delay.

When must the ACID be ready for an air shipment?
Before the flight departs. The ACID goes in the Other Customs Information (OCI) field of the electronic air waybill. If the number is missing from the shipping documents, the law requires the goods to be returned without unloading at the carrier's expense (Customs Law 207/2020, Art. 39).
